But why on I'm glad to learn more about Salieri whose reputation was surely tarnished by Peter Shaffer's loose approach to the facts. It's a visceral, enthralling evening of Amadeus, of course, is the original stage play that eventually became the remarkably popular 1984 Milos Forman film that garnered Academy Award nominations for both F. Peter Shaffer's well-known dramatization of jealousy and how it utterly consumes the sufferer. From its sleekly stunning set to its phenomenally talented cast, Round House Theatre's new production of Peter Shaffer's Amadeus is first-class all the way. It makes amazing Amadeus Mozart. The book is in the form of a play narrated by a composer contemporary of Mozart - Antonio Salieri. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce (although only Abraham won). I read Amadeus by Peter Shaffer last night which had also been made into a movie.
